From Montreal Down Town

I wasin Montreal end of August for the Kid Power International Conference on Preventing Violence and Abuse Against Young People. The participation of those of us from Developing countries was funded by the Canadian International Development Agency. It was one of the most crazy trips I have embarked on this year. I was delayedat the Canadian Embassy in Lagos, so I just jumped into the airplane with very few laugage.

Montreal is a very fine city but I enjoyed Centre Notre Dame do Fatima where we were logging more than any other place I visited. The Center is in the down town of Montreal and directly overlooking a Lake that shares the same borders with the United States. The meeting was much more important. In the tradition of the KidPower organisation, the meeting was aimed at providing us with the basic skills we need to effectively educate young people who are in dangerous situations how they can protect themselves. It connects well with safe sex negotiation as well as protecting one's self from sexual abuse.

I enjoyed every bit of my stay in Montreal and now back in Port Harcourt to face work and the rest.
